Infertility Evaluation
SSWC offers infertility evaluation. A thorough history is obtained to determine which tests would be appropriate in your specific case.
Commonly, most providers recommend attempting pregnancy for a year before instituting an infertility evaluation. In some cases this can be started sooner.
Depending on your history and exam, your evaluation may include:
- Hormone levels to test for ovulation
- Semen analysis is indicated in most couples
- Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test that injects dye into the uterus to check for defects and follows the flow to be sure the fallopian tubes are open.
Patients are encouraged to check for ovulation on their own with one of the many over the counter Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPK) before their first appoinment.
