- Tour of Capital Medical Center Women’s Services Unit
What to bring?
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Light jacket or sweater
- Two pillows
- Blanket or mat (optional)
- Large exercise ball (optional)
Morning and afternoon snacks and drinks are provided.
Lunch is on your own.
South Sound Women’s Center has been taking care of women since 1993. It was a natural progression to add birthing classes for our patients in our continuing effort to provide the best service possible. We know you will take home the most up-to-date information and a better understanding of pregnancy and the birthing process.

Saturday 8:30 to 5:30 (usually the 2nd Sat. each month)
or 4 Tuesdays 6 to 8 pm
(Classes that do not have a minimum of
6 couples are subject to re-scheduling.)
Cost: $80*
*Tuesday evening childbirth classes are a covered benefit with DSHS and Healthy Options.
Excellent prenatal care and a healthy lifestyle, coupled with childbirth and newborn eduction, provide a wonderful start to the new world of parenting.
DEBBIE PAAPE
Debbie is a Registered Nurse on staff for over 8 years at Capital Medical Center Labor & Delivery plus an additional 11 years experience in Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postparum, Newborn and Gynecologic Surgical Care. She hails from Chicago and has been married for 20 years to her husband, Scott, with whom she has two children. Debbie is a member of CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association). "Reducing fear of the unknown is a big part of enjoying your childbirth experience. Our goal in this class is to help you learn, while having fun and, possibly, making new connections as parents in the future."
ROBIN STAHLEY
Robin is a Registered Nurse on staff at South Sound Women’s Center. She has 15 years labor and delivery experience and has taught childbirth education for 8 years. She is married to her husband of 19 years, Keith, and the mother of two teenagers, Nathan and Cayla. Robin is a member of ICEA (International Childbirth Education Association). "I believe that knowledge is empowering and helps reduce the fear of the unfamiliar, which has a positive impact on the birth experience."
